The Patent Professionals

Our patent attorneys also counsel clients in other areas of patent practice as well, including patent licensing. Moreover, our patent attorneys also assist clients with:

  • Supplemental examination
  • Pre-issuance submissions
  • Reissues
  • Reexaminations
  • Post grant review
  • Inter parties review proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

In addition, our patent attorneys work with the litigation attorneys of ADD+G to enforce the patent rights of our clients against infringers, as well as to provide a defense to infringement allegations. With our engineering backgrounds and extensive patent prosecution experience, our patent attorneys are able to assist our patent litigators in streamlining trial preparation and developing the most effective positions for advancing their cases.

Understanding A Patent

A patent is a grant from the U.S. government of the right to exclude others from making, using, selling, or offering for sale the patented invention for a limited time. There are different types of patents, two of which are relevant to most businesses. The first type is design patents, which protect the ornamental aspects of an article of manufacture. The second type is utility patents, which protect new and useful processes, machines, articles of manufacture, or compositions of matter.
